Flavor Buffet
Hello, Friday, we meet again. Well, I finished my fourth work-from-home week and I’m happy to report I’ve settled into a good routine. Well, a routine that works for me in this unsettling, not-normal time. We now wear masks when we leave the apartment and any day that has sunshine is a major win.
I’ve said it many times, but I’ll say it again: find a routine and stick to it! I treat the work days the same (orderly and filled with work) so that the weekend, because we are still home, feels special. I save the fun for the weekend: baking, organizing, reading, etc. You know, the good stuff!
So how about even more good stuff with this week’s Buffet? It’s a great one. :)
Have a relaxing weekend everyone! Please stay safe and healthy, and stay home.

Have I mentioned that I love Caesar Salad? Well, I do. It’s near the top of my “favorite salads” list which, admittedly, is not long, but Caesar is very close to the top. Learn all about how to make a great Caesar Salad by another cool person named Molly, right here.
Basically (from Bon Appètit) now has a newsletter from its editor and of course it’s delightful. Read and enjoy every sentence. And find many great cooking tips!
Anyone else watching the now at-home version of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon? It’s fantastic, it’s funny, it’s relaxing, and his whole family is involved. So cute!
Businesses everywhere have been hurt by the pandemic; especially in the restaurant world. In connection to that segment, what about the catering industry? With weddings and events being canceled left and right, this industry has seen an unfortunate hit as well.
Cook
Mojo Meatballs - Saving this recipe for the next time we venture to the grocery store. Or are able to have groceries delivered (those delivery windows are tricky).
Soy-Ginger Dinner Scramble - This simple dish of eggs, cucumbers, and rice is perfect for dinner, a more exciting breakfast, or even a fun lunch. I think I’ll try it this weekend. :)
Southwestern Brown Rice Bowl - Looks like I found a great dinner for Friday night. But would happily eat this any day of the week.
Garlic, Mushroom, and Spinach Pizza - Strongly considering this for our new Sunday night dinner ritual.
Dine
For the time being, restaurants are almost all closed. However, there are several still offering takeout and delivery during specific hours each night. I would recommend finding your favorite spot on Instagram to see if they are staying open and/or offering takeout options.
It’s so important to support local restaurants, large and small, during these tough times. I recently learned that Five Guys is doing curbside contact-less pickup so I’m strongly considering ordering a lot of french fries.
Shop
These are my current favorite jeans that I have been wearing at home (where else?) on repeat. I bought my usual size and they have stretched out a lot, but I don’t mind at all. #extracomfy. Just another plug for (awesome) Madewell denim.
Getting used to using this toner before my day/night skincare routine. Still not entirely sure what it’s doing, but maybe that’s the point?
Already a fan of the Drunk Elephant product line, I am now very interested in their brand-new hair and body products. Have you tried (or read the reviews of) any of them yet?
This granola is our daily breakfast and it’s delicious! We ordered direct from the brand’s website and the shipping was incredibly quick. :)
Enjoy, be well, and stay home.
