Flavor Buffet
Already, it’s Friday! What started as a week that felt fairly sluggish (rain will do that), it suddenly is done and we’re about to begin the weekend. Sure, Boston has snow in the forecast on Saturday and a sunny and 60s outlook for Sunday (oh, April), but who cares?! We made it to the weekend and I’m personally very excited.
Not only am I considering another cookie project, but we’re planning to finish season two of ‘Succession’ and finally get caught up on John Krasinski’s show, ‘Some Good News’. Have you seen it? It’s all about news that’s positive, uplifting, and joyful. What could be better?
Let’s all have a good weekend and please #stayhome. Or better yet #stayhomeandread. Flavor Buffet is here!

Cook
Benne Biscuits with Sausage Gravy - now is a better time than any to dive into the world of hearty brunch food. Maybe I’ll start with this dish.
Charred Peppers with Lemon Ricotta and Cucumbers - with the warmer weather approaching, it’s time to brush off the grill to char some peppers (could be done stovetop as well). This dish sounds like it could be a great lunch or side dish to go with a steak.
Strawberry and Butterscotch Whipped Cream Cake - sometimes you just need to bake and eat a cake. I may try this one, but swap the whipped cream…for buttercream. #frostingfanforlife
Beans and Greens Polenta Bake - this just sounds delicious and perfect for an easy, but impressive-looking dinner.

Please consider supporting your favorite restaurant(s) by purchasing gift cards to use at a later date or placing an order for delivery/contactless pick-up. Last week, we went to Woodman’s of Essex and had a fun picnic in our car. We placed an order (and paid) over the phone and the contactless pick-up was seamless. It was great to support a family-run business and enjoy delicious, fried (gluten free) seafood. Such a treat!
Shop
I’ve been hearing more and more good things about the brand Necessaire and thought it was finally time to try it out. I ordered the body serum and lotion as a set and will report back!
Speaking of small businesses and skincare, I have also done some research on Ursa Major, which is a “plant-powered” skincare company based in Vermont. Nothing ordered, but it’s a cool company and I love Vermont.
While I wear “work clothes” during the day, evenings are all about extra comfort. I’m considering these joggers as a second option for the nights and weekends. So cozy!
Enjoy, be well, and stay safe.
