Hello! Happy Friday.

It’s so wonderfully sunny, but uh, it’s way too windy and cold for late-April. I saw snowflakes yesterday. No joke! Moving on, this week was a quick one, a good one, and I’m so glad the weekend has arrived. Spring weather is supposed to return and I really wouldn’t mind some time on our deck now that the table and chairs finally arrived. It’s the little things!

Today’s Buffet has some helpful reading for the weekend (of course I included a home tour), a cake I want to bake, nachos for breakfast, and the face wash I’ve re-introduced to my nighttime routine (what was I waiting for?). I hope you enjoy it!

Have a great weekend! Please continue to wear a mask when out and about. This thing isn’t over yet.

In case my constant cookie-baking discussion isn’t enough, Emily from cupcakes&cashmere offered up a great guide to the best chocolate chip cookie recipes (and baking tips) around. Save this one.

Earth Day (every day) - ridiculously important! Let’s take care of this big, blue world we’re all living on. Here are seven items that you can - surprise, surprise - reuse in your everyday life.

An excellent roundup of machine-washable rugs. Yes, machine-washable!

I love the dining room of this 1920s Detroit Craftsman home tour. The interview is great, too, featuring a first-time homebuyer’s various adventures. Sounds familiar…

Just a reminder to please get the COVID vaccine! It’s time! It’s free! Go sign up and get it done.

How many of these Nancy Meyers films have you seen? I need to get caught up! #fatherofthebridefanforever.

COOK

I have a feeling chicken fajita bowls are in our future.

Suddenly craving 20 minute red curry noodles. Maybe for tonight?

Salt and Pepper Cauliflower sounds like the perfect side dish to something fresh off the grill. Wouldn’t you agree?

I’ve said 2021 is the Year of Cake (remember?) so I think I need to bake this walnut snack cake with raspberry buttercream. However, I may swap the buttercream for regular vanilla…

Back on the savory train, I’d love to make this sheet pan chow mein very soon. Yum!

Breakfast Nachos will be happening ASAP. Most likely for breakfast. ;)

DINE

We’re counting down until we’re fully vaccinated so that we can dine al fresco oh-so-soon. Until then, we’re cooking away at home (lots of new cookbooks) and getting takeout from time to time. How about you? I’m so excited to go out for dinner!!

SHOP

My cookbooks-to-buy list has gotten long again. First up: Cook This Book by Molly Baz. I just got it and cannot wait to make everything in it.

I’m amidst decisions related to shades for various windows in our house. I love that The Shade Store offers free swatches of however many samples you like/need. Convenient! I have about thirty on my counter right now. ;)

I recently re-discovered that the Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser face wash is fantastic. Highly recommend it!

Impulse-purchased these AGOLDE utility pants this week (on sale) and am concerned I’m just not tall enough for them. We’ll see when they arrive!

Just another shout-out to my favorite Merly denim jacket from Able for spring. So comfy and currently on sale!

ChappyWrap blankets are now available at Bloomingdale’s! I’m considering this one as an extra to have on the couch.

If you need me, I’ll be spending the weekend going through the pages and pages of vintage rugs on Etsy.

Enjoy!
