Flavor Buffet

Well, what a difference the sun makes! This week seemed to cruise right by thanks to abundant sunshine, which made it much easier to go for our daily walks. Sure, the warmth didn’t arrive until Thursday, but at least spring is trying to arrive. I appreciate the effort. ;) Here’s to Friday!

This week’s Buffet offers ideas about ordering a charcuterie platter, ordering ice cream, recipes for Greek salad and dumplings, finding the best fries to eat in your car, plus my shopping suggestions (they’re good ones!).

Have a great weekend. Please wear a mask if you go outside and are near anyone else. Otherwise, just stay home. Thank you.

When the restaurant world eventually, slowly opens, plan accordingly. Going out to eat will be very different.

Cook

Black Pepper Tofu and Asparagus - A delicious, veggie-forward dish featuring fresh asparagus and the meatless option of tofu. Sounds yummy!

Castelvetrano Greek Pasta Salad - As the days finally warm up this sounds like a great dish for a weekend afternoon picnic on our balcony. Yum!

Pork and Scallion Dumplings with Crispy Skirt - These may be a project since I’d have to make the wrappers from scratch, but it could very well be worth the effort…

Pull-apart Rugelach - My sister made these recently and said they were fantastic! I definitely want to try baking them with GF flour very soon.

Dine

Where should we go for our weekly takeout adventure? I’m thinking some form of fries may be necessary because it’s been nine weeks (!!) since I’ve had my favorite flavor.

In case you need some inspiration, I’m offering my Boston dining guides below. Be sure to check a restaurant’s social media accounts to make sure they are offering safe takeout/curbside pickup options.

Shop

I can’t speak highly enough of the Necessaire product line. I’m loving their body lotion and serum which has saved my ultra-dry skin (wash those hands! often!). Next up? I want to try the eucalyptus deodorant; I’ve heard great things!

For all of the tea-drinkers out there, Seth has been ordering from Upton Tea lately and their shipping time is very impressive. It’s a MA-based business we’re happy to support. And yes, he has switched entire to tea from coffee. Whoah.

Took the plunge and finally ordered a second pair of comfy pants (but I still save them for after the work day). They’re so comfy!

Masks. Make them or buy them, I hope you’re wearing one whenever you’re outside near anyone else. Please wear a mask.

Enjoy, stay safe, and stay home.
