Floral Feeling
While I cannot pinpoint exactly when, how, or why, I do know that I've become somewhat floral obsessed in recent months (maybe a few years, tops). There's just something so soothing and refreshing about fresh flowers, beautiful bouquets, and amazing arrangements that just makes me smile and sigh.
Perhaps it's the time spent on floral during our wedding planning last year, or my sister's wedding a couple years prior, but I've really become interested in creating awesome bouquets for family, for gatherings, or just because. I think it may be due to the fact that big flowers are often associated with big life events such as weddings, which are such happy, joyful occasions. Call me a sap, but I get teary-eyed looking at photos of weddings no matter the couple, no matter what. And I also get wide-eyed when I see some of the incredible floral arrangement techniques being done out there by some pretty fantastic florists.
Beautiful bouquets and arrangements will always bring a smile to my face and hopefully those around me. That's often why I share them on social media during a dull or uneventful day; maybe it will perk us all up a bit!
It's been said (and proven) that during exercise your body releases endorphins, which alleviate stress, pain, and a positive feeling overall. I think that's what happens to me when I look at beautiful flowers: I'm instantly in a better mood and feel more joyful overall. Perhaps it's just a silly mind game, but I'm willing to play.
Yes, I know, sharing a mix of Celiac-friendly recipes and restaurants and flowers is somewhat of a funky combination, but that's what you're going to see here. I love food, and flowers, and you're going to reap the benefits of both. My aim is to make you hungry, and happy. Enjoy!
