New flower that popped up this week!

Hello! Happy Friday. I’m so glad it has arrived. And it’s a pretty beautiful one here in the northeast. Sunshine, blue sky, and no humidity. The perfect-summer-day trifecta! It’s been a long week filled with a variety of things; some good, some less-than-good, but now we’ve made it to Friday and we’re feeling great. There are plenty of birds chirping outside the window and there’s a brief pause in the cars passing by. Bliss!

For this week’s Buffet, I’m offering up the usual: good reads, gift ideas for the dads, a whole host of summer recipes including a pie I’ve got my eye on, restaurants I’d recommend frequenting, and some shopping. The warm days have arrived and I’m turning to bike shorts and Birkenstocks fairly often. Who am I? Someone comfortable during the hot days of summer, that’s who! ;) Find links to those items, and much more, below.

Have a great weekend!

Please remember to wear sunscreen, get the vaccine, and don’t be mean. :)

Juneteenth is now a federal holiday. It’s about time.

An in-depth list of last-minute Father’s Day gift ideas, in case you still need them! This holiday is on Sunday. :)

I liked this brief piece on why it’s so fun to visit “old favorites” in the restaurant world rather than trying someplace new.

‘The Shrink Next Door’ may finally be the show to get me to try Apple TV.

I’m not on TikTok, but apparently everyone else is as well as their kitchen dreams. Click here for the current kitchen trends, via TokTok. Who knew?

I love celebrity home tours. Why not see how those who can have anything design their home? It’s also great for style inspiration. Dan Abrams’s town house is quite chic!

COOK

Summer-friendly recipes, right this way…

Paprika Shrimp with Buttery V8 Sauce sounds scrumptious if you ask me.

Would love to make Sach Ko Ang (Cambodian “barbecued beef skewers”) for a weekend gathering.

Simple Vegan Potato Salad is a dish I’d make for a picnic, no doubt.

Grilled Summer Squash with Feta would be a perfect side dish for chicken, beef, or seafood (all grilled, of course).

Speaking of grilling, Grilled Flank Steak with Poblano Pico needs to be on our table next week.

And for a sweet treat, I think it’s time to get baking again. I may start with this Atlantic Beach Pie. Yum!

DINE

I must admit that even though we can now dine freely as we please, we’ve been sticking to the same spots. I love being “a regular” at certain restaurants because it’s great to support local businesses that have delicious food and excellent service.

Let me know if you’d like to meet up for pancakes or breakfast tacos at Twist Bakery Cafe.

I’m always happy with fries and a cocktail at The Stones Common House and Kitchen.

I’d love to plan a meetup on a beautiful summer day for lunch, in Essex, at J.T. Farnham’s. The view, and fried GF seafood, is simply spectacular.

Grab an outdoor table at Tempo Kitchen and have a wonderful time with plenty of GF options including calamari, truffle fries, and drinks.

SHOP

Considering this denim jacket while ABLE is having a summer sale. Could be a great piece through the fall?

Results are in and I’m a big fan of the J.Crew bike short. Super comfy for walks (or lounging) and a great price.

For a future skincare purchase (haul), I’m thinking about this Biossance Vitamin C Rose Oil when the time comes.

Without fail, I’ve been turning to my Arizona-style Birkenstock sandals whenever the temperature soars above 90…

What’s with the Nap Dress trend? I’m undecided on it, but this one from Hill House Home’s new summer collection caught my eye.

Even during summer, I’m in jeans. I just love them. And I’ve been reaching for my Everlane pair more and more lately (especially with those crop-length tops).

Enjoy!

Mollie
