Flavor Buffet: 2/12/2021
Hello! Happy Friday!
I’m not sure why, but this week felt fairly long. I’m chalking it up to the Tuesday snow and shoveling; thank goodness the sun is back to shining (and hopefully melting the snow). The sky has been a sparkling blue for a few, glorious (very cold) days.
Moving right along, Valentine’s Day is on Sunday! Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, I think of this day as a great excuse to tell/show those most important to you that you care about them and that you’re thinking of them during this less-than-normal time. The Pandemic is temporary (I promise), but showing someone you care will last forever. OK. Cheesy moment done. Shall we get to the Buffet?
This week is another mixed bag of dinner ideas, home tours, decor options, some skincare, and an Oreo-based dessert we should all make tonight. Or right now.
Have a great weekend! Have a sweet Valentine’s Day. Please wear a mask. :)

A number of ideas for how to spend Valentine’s Day in NYC - if you’re there - but many of these could be translated to your own city as well.
So, do I need to make the TikTok pasta? Looks yummy…
Since no one is really out and about much these days or going out with friends (someday), what is there to talk about at the end of the day? Seth and I seem to be discussing the weather in a bit too much detail. Ha!
I loved Serena Williams’s home tour and the interview that went along with it. She’s fantastic.
What is your favorite outfit to wear - or go-to style - when cooking? I have frequently baked in workout wear.

A few more ideas for Valentine’s Day. Or any time this weekend.
Who would say no to homemade bittersweet-chocolate truffles? Fancy!
Might change plans and ask Seth to make us a decadent macaroni and cheese.
Drooling over this seared short ribs with mushrooms. Just needs a starch (or salad) on the side. ;)
Keep it light with these roasted chipotle cauliflower tacos. Dairy-free!
My friend Jen shared this Oreo-cheesecake-brownie recipe this week and I need to make it ASAP. Yes, with real (!!) gluten free Oreos.
Pizza is a wonderful food to share for Valentine’s Day; read all about my favorite pie, right here.
Cookies and sweets are also scrumptious to share this Sunday. Here are my favorite recipes.
DINE
We’ve been ordering takeout about once a week, which is pretty much back to “normal,” given the circumstances. Someday we will return to our Friday Night Out, but until then, takeout is how we’re changing things up on the weekend.
May I suggest my takeout guide - right here.
My guide to French fries (yes, all about fries) - here.
SHOP
My home decor post is now live! Have you seen it? Head over there for a deep-dive into the world of decorating with plenty of sources linked. Beyond home decor, I haven’t been shopping much (probably for the best), but a few items have caught my eye…
This henley top looks so cozy I couldn’t resist.
Tory Sport is having a sale. Take a peek…
I just re-ordered a few products from Beauty Counter. And I read great reviews about this vitamin C serum from BeautyRX.
My favorite small containers to keep it all organized on my office bookcase (I use the XS size for shelves).
Ordered this runner (rug) and I love it - just hoping it will work in a useful space since it’s not quite right for a hallway. Always double-check the return policy. ;)
I’ve mentioned it before, but the Necessaire Hand Cream is a hand-saver this winter. I keep it on my desk at all times. It’s also a great gift!
Enjoy!
