Flavor Buffet: 3/19/2021

Loves the sun more than anything.

Loves the sun more than anything.

Hello! Happy Friday.

It’s the last day of winter and it’s blustery and chilly, which seems fitting. However, the sun is shining bright and spring starts tomorrow with a string of much warmer days ahead - hooray! As much as I don’t mind wearing a jacket, I am completely over wearing a jacket. I’m ready for warmth, no socks necessary, and leaving the windows open.

In other news, Seth’s birthday is on Monday so we will be doing some celebrating this weekend. He has mentioned craving fried clams and I will be baking a cake. Sounds like a good birthday to me! Speaking of that, my own birthday is only 5 months away which feels a lot sooner than it tends to this time of year. 2021 seems to be flying - would you agree?

In the spirit of spring, sunshine, and a lot of hope for the future, this week’s Buffet is a joyful variety of reading, recipes, and more. I hope you’ll click the links and find time to take a moment for yourself. Relaxing with something good to read is an essential element of self-care. A term I don’t particularly like, but completely appreciate its meaning. We all take care of so many around us, but taking care of ourselves is extremely important, too.

Have a great weekend!

I’m making Seth a cake for his birthday, but maybe he would like a chocolate buttermilk pie as well?

With the weather warming up, we’re thinking about spring veggies and may need to make these spring vegetable bhajia.

Speaking of spring, I think we will need this roasted garlic goat cheese pizza with basil vinaigrette.

Have you checked out The Home Shop? I hope you find it helpful! More items coming soon.

Ordered this distressed jean jacket from (new-to-me women-owned-brand) Able and it’s delightful! Sizing: fairly fitted, may want to size up for layering.

Constantly considering light fixtures for a few spots. I like this one from Rejuvenation for our upstairs hallway.

Tory Sport continues to tempt me with their stylish spring pieces. I love this jacket, but is it too bright?

Spring and summer mean plenty of time outside - don’t forget the sunscreen! Supergoop! makes my favorite sunblock for everyday wear.

Enjoy!
