Hello, everyone! And happy Friday.

It’s pretty darn hot and humid here in Boston so why not take a moment to sit back, relax, and read the Buffet? This week I’m featuring content created by black women and men in response to the recent horrendous events as well as resources to educate and help. If you follow along on Instagram, I have been featuring resources, inspiring quotes, and more on my stories all week.

Black lives matter (always have and always will) and their recipes, restaurants, blogs, products, and much more, are incredible. Moving forward, I will be sure to diversify the creators of the content I share in the Buffet each week as I fully recognize that it wasn’t nearly inclusive enough. That changes now.

let’s get to it!

COOK

Jerk-Shrimp Tacos - This recipe looks delicious! We haven’t been making tacos often enough and I think these will be perfect for our next taco night. Plus, they’re naturally gluten free! Recipe by Jocelyn Delk Adams (@grandbabycakes). This site has countless recipes I’m excited to try; everything looks incredible.

BBQ Chickpea Wraps with Ranch Dressing - What more could you want from a wrap? This looks so yummy and I’d like to have it for lunch today. And everyday. Just be sure to use your favorite brand of GF wrap. Recipe by Jessica Hylton Leckie (@jessicainthekitchen). This website is fantastic and her recipes are mostly gluten free and all vegan.

Egg Roll in a Bowl - An incredible idea for a dinner and I wish I’d thought of it myself. Yum! It’s naturally gluten free and looks perfect for a busy weeknight. Or any night! Or lunch. Recipe by Ashlea Carver Adams (@allthehealthythings). This website features gluten free recipes and there are too many to list that I’d like to make.

Chicken Enchilada Skillet - Another recipe I’d love to make tonight. There’s nothing quite as delicious as a cheesy chicken enchilada and this recipe makes it even easier by preparing it in a skillet. I’m sold. Recipe by Ashlea Carver Adams (@allthehealthythings).

Blueberry Crumble Muffins - The photos on this site are beautiful and I’m practically running out the door to get everything to make these muffins. I’ll just need to swap in GF flour and I’ll be ready to bake. Recipe by Benjamina Ebuehi (@bakedbybenji).

DINE

Restaurants below are located in/around Boston. Please be sure to check each restaurant’s social media page before ordering as their menu and hours may be limited due to coronavirus.

Bred Gourmet - I’d like to order every sandwich on the menu (GF bread available) and a side of fries, please.

Mida - This Italian spot has a drool-worthy menu and gluten free pasta is available. Time for takeout!

Wingz + Tingz - The list of flavors for wings is the longest I’ve ever seen. I need to see if these are GF immediately because the entire menu sounds awesome and perfect for football night (or any sport. or any reason to order wings).

M&M BBQ - There is gluten free bread available for the sandwiches and I’m suddenly craving all of the BBQ.

Darryl’s Corner Bar & Kitchen - I love the sound of everything on this menu and the idea of a jazz brunch on Sunday sounds seriously sweet. I’ll need to inquire about GF options.

Bistro 781 - This spot has been on my radar for a while and I can’t wait to order takeout once they re-open. Their menu labels everything that can be made gluten free. Yippee!

SHOP

The ceramics from this Brooklyn-based shop are eye-catching and very useful! As soon as the shop is updated, I’m thinking of ordering a few mugs and/or planters. Probably both.

I’m loving all of the products at The Harlem Candle Company and I’d like to order all of the candles and the vintage night club map greeting cards. And the vintage night club map mug.

Who could ever take their eyes off of the beautiful glasses at Estelle? These hand-blown wine glasses and cake stands are beautiful. I am having a very hard time deciding on a single, favorite color. The color variety is fantastic.

Who knows when we’ll be able to take a trip, but for that eventual-vacation, I’d like to order this blue and white cover up. Made in Ethiopia, the brand is lemlem by Liya Kebede.

While we haven’t been drinking much coffee lately, I’m strongly considering order a bag or two of beans from Red Bay Coffee. Maybe a few for my family, too!

PS: I hope you’re wearing a face mask when you go out and are unable to socially distance.

Enjoy and have a great weekend.
