Flavor Buffet: 6/19/2020
Hello! Happy Friday.
First things first, this was a gorgeous week of weather, so I hope you got to spend some time outdoors. Before the humidity arrived, we had so many days of the most glorious fresh air and warm, but not too hot, temperatures. It was the best version of summer and I wish it was always like that around here. Since that’s not the case, I’ll settle for great weather some of the time and cupcakes. Yes, I baked this week. They will be arriving on Mollie Bakes very soon.
In other news, my birthday is just two months away so I have ample time to decide how I’d like to begin my 35th year. Ideally, with lots of cake, sunshine, a delicious dinner, and family. :)
Finally, it’s time for the Buffet. I’m bringing to you this week ideas for Father’s Day recipes because dads are divine, ice cream maker recommendations, summery shorts for these super-hot days, and a gluten free cracker giveaway (enter to win over on Instagram).
Have a great weekend! Please wear a mask.

Today is June 19th, which is Juneteenth (Freedom Day), a very important day in history when slavery officially ended in the US. Here is a piece I read that was powerful amidst all that’s going on right now. And here is helpful information to teach you about this day.
Father’s Day is on Sunday! Hooray for all of the dads. :) My dad and I are very similar in that we love great food, but aren’t the biggest fans of cooking it. Thankfully, this group of food-dads love to do both (mostly).
An update from Bon Appetit and the changes they’re starting to make.

Outdoor dining has come to Boston, with restaurants no longer limited to just takeout and delivery. It’s an interesting time for this industry without a doubt.
Cook
Crispy Buffalo Ranch Chicken Nuggets - These are gluten free, baked chicken nuggets which basically screams “make these now!” in my mind.
Homemade Air Fryer French Fries - I knew we bought potatoes for a good reason! I’d love to make these fries ASAP.
Cedar-Plank Salmon - My dad is a huge fan of salmon! Perhaps it’s time to whip this up for him for Father’s Day. I’m sure he’d love it. :)
Lentil-Smothered Greens on Fried Bread - This sounds like an awesome lunch or light, easy dinner. Plus. it’s very affordable and meatless. Win!
Dine
While restaurants are now offering outdoor dining, I think we will stick to takeout and car-picnics for the time being. Do what makes you feel safe, but please take all precautions and wear a mask! Some time in the future, I’d love to hang out at our favorite bars and restaurants, but for now, cooking at home and fries in the park will suffice.
Speaking of food, below are my dining guides. I’d recommend checking a spot’s social media site to make sure they are open and offering takeout and/or outdoor dining (if interested).

Shop
Online shopping has kept me entertained throughout quarantine (oops). However, I used to be an in-store-only shopper (I know, I know). I have finally changed my habits! And am a forever fan of free shipping. ;)
I’ve ordered these shorts for the extra-hot and extra-humid days that are about to arrive. Lightweight and extra-comfy? Yes please.
This yoga mat has been a wonder for my at-home workouts. I can’t believe I waited so long to buy one.
Strongly considering ordering the mini-size of this candle from la botica, which are hand-poured in NYC.
Onesto Foods’ gluten free crackers are scrumptious. Have you tried them? My favorite for cheese platters all summer long. Have you seen my giveaway on Instagram? Contest is open until Saturday (6/20) a midnight. :)
Enjoy! And please, wear a mask.
