Flavor Buffet: June, vol. IV
Happy Friday, everyone! It’s been a week, hasn’t it? I don’t know about you, but my days were packed and I was ultra-exhausted every evening. To say I’m glad the weekend has arrived would be quite an understatement. I have no official plans for the weekend and that is totally OK. 😎
As we settle into the last couple days of June, let’s enjoy it with the Buffet and the reality that July 4th is already next week!
Have a great weekend!

Do you frequent your local farmer’s market? It’s a great way to shop for extra-fresh produce all the while supporting local, small businesses and farms. Here are the five best cities to live in if your farmer’s market trips are the highlight of your week.
Here is a list of the best hotel restaurants because hotel restaurants are back and better than ever. I fully support this declaration because some of my favorite spots to eat are in hotels. The best part of the situation? You don’t need to be a guest to dine at these excellent eateries.
The 2019 Best of Boston awards have been given and now take a look at the dining recipients - there are some incredible restaurants in this group! Congrats to all of the winners. Now, where should we go first?
Cook
Are sour cream and onion chips a polarizing snack? I certainly hope not - they’re too delicious. This Sour Cream and Onion Potato Salad looks like one of those bring-everyone-together type dishes. I cannot imagine anyone disagreeing with that.
Veggie-based…ice cream?! You don’t say. Check out these three vegetable ice cream recipes and let me know which one you’ll make this summer. I’d choose the corn one..
Are you planning a BBQ for next week? Perhaps instead of burgers, we should be grilling steaks! I think this Grilled Skirt Steak and Tomato Salad would be a delicious alternative. But let’s add hot dogs, too. 😏
Dine
Our weekend plans are up in the air, but I’m thinking we may need to pop by Lone Star Taco Bar for a few of the incredible carnitas tacos. And a margarita. :)
Summer is prime seafood season, in my opinion, although you should be eating fish all year long. One of my favorite fishy spots, mostly due to the vast gluten free options, is Legal Sea Foods. It’s been around since 1950! Have you been yet?
Are you traveling for the July 4th holiday? Check out my gluten free dining guides beyond Boston! I’ve reviewed restaurants in New York, Las Vegas, and Maine, right here.
Shop
This week I learned the joy of online shopping (again). I can’t wait to let you know what I think of this Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen. I read several great reviews so I have high hopes for this new-to-me brand.
While not a new purchase, or necessary during hot summer days, I’m loving my jean jacket - I even wore it this week. It’s just so versatile, comfy, and perfect for layering on cool summer nights.
One project I’d like to do this summer is create a gallery wall in our living room. I think varied frame sizes (and colors) would be fun and more eye-catching, even though I’m often drawn to these classic white ones to showcase my favorite photos.
Enjoy!
