Flavor Buffet: May, vol. IV
Welcome to Friday, friends! The long weekend is about to begin, the weather looks to be lovely, and I basically just want to live outside for the next three days! No joke; I’m all about the outdoor activities these days now that the sun is shining and I don’t always need a jacket packed in the car.
Are you going away for the weekend? Staying local? Whatever you decide, I hope it’s relaxing, fun, and refreshing. Memorial Day Weekend is the “unofficial” start to summer and I am psyched.
As we ramp up for a few days off, check out this week’s Flavor Buffet. Perfect for all of your holiday weekend plans, whatever those turn out to be.
Have a great, delicious weekend!

We visited Arizona for the first time back in December and ever since I’ve been itching to go back. It was gorgeous! I have a feeling this guide to a weekend in Tucson may be very helpful someday soon.
Here is a handy little article about crushed red pepper flakes and their origin. Neat!
As much as I love going to new restaurants, I’m a sucker for buying that restaurant’s merchandise as well - especially a reusable tote bag. I can’t help it! So, here’s a collection of cool restaurant tote bags, all so unique, and now I have very long list of places to go. And bags to buy. ;)
In defense of dinner party nachos. This could be the greatest main course for a party ever; don’t you think? Easy to make and ultra-delicious, your guests will be surprised - and thrilled - with the menu.

Extra recipes... I just can’t help it!
It’s been a while since I’ve baked, I know, but I’ve been a bit uninspired. However, upon first glance at this Cherry Biscuit Cobbler, my eyes and ears perked up. It looks so pretty! And it’s perfectly seasonal...
While I think it’s a little silly to offer you a scrambled eggs recipe, this one features an extra ingredient to be used as a topping: buttery breadcrumbs! Obviously I’d need to revise this recipe slightly to make it GF, but here’s my secret: I love using Aleia’s GF panko or plain breadcrumbs in instances like this one. They add the crunch you’re seeking and is a much quicker solution for this yummy dish.
We made a melon salad last year that blew us away. So it seems that adding melon to a greens-based dish isn’t the worst idea! I’d like to try this Honeydew Salad with Ginger Dressing and Peanuts next...
We noticed the dill plant on our balcony actually peeking up! Maybe it’s not a lost cause... if that’s the case I’d be keen on making this Dilled Potato and Pickled Cucumber Salad. It just screams summer afternoon picnic.
Corn Cacio e Pepe - um yes please.... what a fun addition to this classic dish - just in time for summer! I can’t wait to make it.
Having a BBQ this weekend? Maybe try this instead of the traditional burgers and hot dogs: Chipotle Chicken Lettuce Wraps - you can still use the grill!
Dine
My Maine dining guide is coming soon!
Twist Bakery Cafe - the new location in Burlington is finally here! Their breakfast sandwiches are unreal. I wrote more about them in Bar Bites, here. 😋
The Bristol at the Four Seasons Hotel - the best GF brunch when you’re feeling fancy and are planning a stroll through Boston afterward. The menu has a massive number of gluten free options and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. Order the pancakes. :)
Nebo Cucina - located near the Boston waterfront, I love this summery spot for all of the Italian classics my heat desires. An extensive gluten free menu that includes pastas, pizzas, and even fried calamari, the hardest part of visiting is not ordering the whole menu! There’s an outdoor patio, too, so... see you there?

Looking for pantry items? Mollie’s Market has arrived! Stocked with all of your cooking, baking, and snacking essentials.
In the meantime...
It’s about time to invest in white jeans. I recently bought a jeans jacket which I think goes best with black jeans, but once it’s hot, I think white will be a nice, crisp contrast.
Classic Birkenstocks. Because I loved them in college and it’s time to re-embrace the look. Now, should I go with the old-favorite Arizona style, or try something different...
Summer wardrobes should be easy and breezy. I live in slip-on shoes of some sort and these shorts every weekend.
Enjoy!
