Flavor Buffet: 10/9/2020

Hello and happy Friday!

We are amidst some seriously beautiful fall weather and it’s got me overjoyed for the season. It also makes me want to bake all of the cookies, eat all of the hearty foods, and buy all of the cozy clothes. Such is life! This week I’m sharing an extra-packed Buffet because I couldn’t resist including the most-delicious sounding meals for the weekend (or whenever) as well as a fairly extensive list of coats I’ve been gazing upon all week. The chill is near. And you know I love to layer. ;)

Have a great weekend! Please wear a mask.

COOK

Brisk evenings have me craving piping-hot meals. This artichoke pepper braised chicken sounds delicious!

Speaking of piping hot, I’d love to make this curry coconut noodle soup tonight. This is a meatless recipe, but I’d love to add shrimp or chicken.

It’s time to make pizza again! I’m saving this roasted butternut squash prosciutto pizza with caramelized onions. It sounds amazing.

Currently craving this 15-minute lazy noodle dish - may I eat this every day?

We’ve been watching football on Sundays and I’m pretty sure we need to make this healthy slow cooker chipotle bean chili immediately. Another meatless option!

On the topic of weekends, I think it’s time (again) to make our own gluten free bagels. Fresh from the oven - too good! Now, where’s the cream cheese?

DINE

Admittedly, we did not try a new-to-us restaurant’s takeout option last week. However, like clockwork, we returned to two of our favorites, which I’ll share again because I strongly recommend them.

Public Kitchen - order the poutine and request it to be gluten free (of course). It’s heavenly!

Twist Bakery Cafe - I’m routinely ordering the chicken Caesar quesadilla and I’m routinely loving it.

Crave - we didn’t manage to make the trip last week, but I’ve been thinking about their cupcakes for days. The carrot cake with cream cheese frosting is unreal.

SHOP

My oh my coat season is on the brink of beginning. Yes. I love coats! Of course, Madewell dropped their new fall collection this week and I’ve been staring at it…all week. Pieces I have my eye on include…

This cozy sherpa jacket because I love wearing something fuzzy all through the winter.

This oversized jean jacket that has a removable sherpa vest - it’s bold, but I love it.

This cocoon coat looks so chic, warm, and wearable (AKA I don’t need to worry about it while out and about).

This navy coat looks quite cozy, slightly formal (but not much), and just awesome.

And some others…

This car coat is classically styled - good for years to come.

I love this cropped puffer coat - that color!

Can’t go wrong with a classic Barbour wax jacket.

I really like the style of this 2-in-1 jacket. A good length!

Enjoy!
