Flavor Buffet: 10/23/2020

Happy Friday!

Last weekend was the most glorious of fall days and yet this week the weather flipped and we had very warm temperatures which left a (strange) feeling of early spring in the air. Too much back-and-forth if you ask me! I’m here for fall and all of the clothes that come with it. On the bright side, I’ve heard that this weekend is going to get us back to where I like to be at the end of October: chilly enough that I need to finally find my socks.

Today’s Buffet is definitely a joyful one filled with brownie recipes, ultimate comfort food, awesome meatballs, and the best basic t-shirt. Also, I need to alert you of a very good sale and a collection of supremely cozy loungewear.

Have a great weekend! Please wear a mask.

Not only do I need to buy Claire Saffitz’s brand-new dessert cookbook, I also need to bake these brownies.

I recently decided it was time to better-organize my most-often-worn shoes, which led to a trip to Container Store (fun and awful all in one). I’m glad to see the storage option I selected included on this list.

I hope this article makes you smile . Oscar-Mayer is trying to bring everyone a little joy during this tough year.

COOK

This weekend seems like a good time to make a double-batch of these sticky ginger scallion meatballs. We’ve made them before and they are fantastic!

I am very intrigued by this sweet potato cake with salted cream cheese frosting. Sounds delicious to me!

I’m saving this three cheese pesto pasta bake with sausage recipe for the coldest day when I want to eat the very definition of comfort food.

When is it not a great time to make kung pao chicken? Love this dish.

Honestly, I’d like to eat this one skillet saucy chicken tortilla enchilada rice bake tonight. It looks unreal.

DINE

What can I say? We’ve been cooking! A lot. I’m afraid I don’t have any new updates for you.

Here’s the thing: we’ve been getting lunch on the weekends at Twist, sometimes we order a GF pizza from Public Kitchen, and somewhat often we order (GF) sushi from Sakura Organic. These are all small, independent businesses that we are thrilled to support . Order from your favorites when you can; the restaurant industry needs our help and every order counts.

Cravings fried clams this fall? Go to JT Farnhams before they close for the season! ;)

SHOP

Have you checked out The Loungewear Guide recently? I’ve just added several new items for living your coziest, comfiest life.

My current skincare routine includes a few products from the UK brand, Elemis, and I must admit I’m very impressed. Conveniently, Elemis is having an excellent sale right now! 25% off your purchase using code FALL25.

Upon further investigation, I’m strongly recommending the Everlane organic cotton t-shirts (crew neck and v-neck). They feel great, fit well, and even wash well for a 100% cotton shirt. Best part? The price is extremely fair. I need to order a few more!

Speaking of ultimate loungewear, it’s time for you to peruse the entirety of Madewell’s new MWL collection made from “luxe, sustainable fabrics.” It’s all so good!
