Flavor Buffet: 11/20/2020

Swan lake. As seen during a walk this week.

Hello and happy Friday!

We had a taste of winter this week and it felt kind of nice to need major layers. I didn’t love the wind and admittedly, it was difficult to run outside while wearing a long jacket (need to fix that), but overall I was happy to layer up and feel the (very) cold air on my face. I wore a mask too, of course.

Let’s get to the Buffet which has all sorts of recipes (for Thanksgiving and otherwise) and reading. I have also included a sneak peek at the upcoming holiday gift guide. Oh yes, that will be coming soon. I know the holidays look and feel very different this year, but I’m still preparing a guide that will be filled with items perfect to send to those you care about most.

Watch for my 2020 Holiday Gift Guide…. arriving in early December!

Have a great weekend! Please wear a mask.

I’m moments away from ordering a four-pack of this pickle-flavored seltzer. Would you try it? I’m so intrigued…

Maybe you’d like to prepare a Turkey Pot Pie next week? This sounds so good even though I’m not the biggest fan of turkey. Ha!

Super-cute keytags if you’re interested. This blog (Cup of Jo) features incredible content day after day; the comment section is a wild ride as well.

In defense of the small Thanksgiving, recipes included, which is a very common theme for us all this year.

COOK

Gluten Free Honey Cornbread Muffins - These minimal-ingredient muffins would be a perfect weekend breakfast or a side for Thanksgiving!

Chicken Parmesan - We made our own version this week, but this recipe is a great option, too! A simple dinner that has loads of flavor - and cheese. ;)

Salted Rosemary Popovers - I haven’t made popovers before, but this recipe looks very promising. Yum!

30 minute Spicy Sesame Noodles with Ginger Chicken - This sounds delicious and I want it for dinner tonight.

Skillet Roasted Chicken and Potatoes - Thanksgiving will look pretty different this year, but it’s for the best. If you’re staying home for the holiday, how about a meal like this one? Sounds yummy to me!

Powdered Sugar Donut Cake - Not only do I need to bake this cake recipe right away, I also want to order the cookbook from which it came.

Don’t forget! We’ve got a handful of original recipes, right here, if you’d like to check them out.

DINE

Supporting local restaurants, bakeries, and food shops is more important now than ever. I encourage you to order takeout, delivery, or to-go items whenever possible. You could order your entire Thanksgiving feast from a local business! They would love the support and it takes away all the work for you. Win win!

SHOP

A sneak peek of this year’s gift guide…lucky you!

The coziest Jenni Kayne shearling mules - so stylish, chic, and can be worn for years to come.

The Greenpoint turtleneck from Dudley Stephens - my favorite length for cold-weather workouts.

Dessert Person by Claire Saffitz - this new cookbook is dazzling for the baker in your life.

Weeknight Gluten Free by Kristine Kidd - an all-time favorite cookbook that is overflowing with delicious weeknight dishes. No substitutions required!

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash - my favorite face wash that leaves skin feeling soft, smooth, and prepped for an evening skincare routine.

A donation to the Greater Boston Food Bank (or other charity) made in someone’s name. Charity is important always, but especially this year. Consider a donation to a cause that’s meaningful to you this giving season.

Enjoy!
