Flavor Buffet

Happy Friday, all!

Whether you’ve got your eyes glued to the news or not, there’s basically no way to escape all that’s happening in the world right now. My hands are raw from all of the washing and I’m way too aware of every sneeze I hear.

I try to stay aware of all the big stories, and yet part of me wants to close my ears and focus only on the good stuff. Alas, I am not doing that. I’m being a good citizen and paying attention. But I’m also remembering to enjoy the happy stuff and relax a little. That’s what the Buffet is for! Relaxing and smiling. So, let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?

Have a great weekend! And remember, wash your hands.

Read

I’m all for fancy dish towels. Try and change my mind.

A quick read regarding a great product to help protect your hands; mine are too dry!

New month means new horoscopes! Bon Appétit’s roundup features chicken soup recipes… which one are you? I think we will make mine (Leo) this weekend.

Cook

Roasty Toasty Pecan-Caramel Shortbread Cookies - in case you’re up for a baking project. These look so good!

Feel-Better Chicken and Rice Soup - in case you’re not feeling your best this weekend.

Sweet Potato Salad with Pepita Dressing - I’m all for sweet potatoes in salads and this one sounds super. And it’s vegan, in case you’re wondering.

Dine

Legal Sea Foods - my usual plug for this New England staple. A menu filled with gluten free goodies, all of the fried seafood, plus dessert options. What else do you need?

Border Cafe - comfort food to the max. My last visit consisted of way too many tortilla chips with salsa that’s too salty plus cheese enchiladas (corn tortillas) with a big bowl of guacamole. Comfort. Food. Joy.

Shop

Dermstore is having a wonderful sale through Monday! Check it out for 20% off a wide-variety of awesome products. I ordered a few of my favorites (conveniently needing a refill) from Caudalie.

ShopBop is having a fantastic sale as well. Up to 25% off a huge array of clothes, shoes, accessories, and more! I’ve seen several bloggers doing roundups of their favorite sale products. My list would be too long. I’d recommend just carving out some time to browse through it all yourself. ;)

Everlane. I’ve learned they’re opening a store in Boston ever-so-soon and I can’t wait. I’ve never tried their clothes, despite the constant glowing reviews. It’s finally time!

Enjoy!
