Flavor Buffet

Happy Friday and happy Valentine’s Day!

I’m glad the weekend has arrived and whether you’re acknowledging this “love day” or not, let me offer you a collection of lovely goodies. I hope you had a good week and I hope we all plan to dive into a giant box of chocolate today, or any time, during the weekend. ❤️

I actually (mostly) enjoyed watching the Oscars last weekend. And this review of the night’s best moments was a great recap days later after I, admittedly, had forgotten most of them.

The Basically Guide to Better Baking has finally arrived and I am excited. I consider myself a pretty good baker, but I am always eager to learn and advance my skill set. The first installment of the series focuses on the chocolate chip cookie. Hooray! My favorite.

Here is a giant celebration of tacos. Because tacos are the absolute best and are truly having a moment. 🌮💕

Oh hey, it’s Valentine’s Day! And while I personally prefer a more casual approach to the day, I find it amusing to read all about the lengths people will go to show their love. This etiquette column always makes me laugh and this edition is focused on V-day. In my opinion, love and laughter go hand in hand. :)

Cook

This week’s recipes are hearty with a capital H. Check out this set of winter warmers. I want them all.

Duck Carnitas Tacos with Radish Escabeche - pork carnitas tacos are one of my forever-favorite foods so I can only imagine how incredible duck carnitas tacos will taste. I bet we will make these very, very soon.

One-Pot Gingery Chicken and Rice with Peanut Sauce - the mere mention of peanut sauce is an automatic “add it to the list” for me, so you know this meal will land on a dinner plan in the near future.

Spicy Baked Pasta with Cheddar and Broccoli Rabe - I have been craving this dish ever since I saw the title. We keep pasta nights fairly infrequent these days, but I will make an exception for this one. OMG it sounds amazing. Read the brief story before clicking through to the recipe itself. ;)

Dine

Honestly, we haven’t been going out too much recently. But next time we do, I want to go to one of the following…

Tempo Kitchen and Cocktails - we have only been here for dinner once, but I’ve been thinking about it ever since! Great food and drinks and the friendliest waitstaff. And incredibly easy to eat gluten free; hooray!

Bistro 781 - I have not yet been to this restaurant! But they advertise plenty of gluten free options and I don’t need to hear much else. I’ll let you know when we finally visit.

Red Heat Tavern - one of our go-to spots for a relaxed weeknight out; the entire menu can be made gluten free! My usual order almost always includes sweet Thai boneless chicken wings.

Shop

Can’t stop won’t stop my passion for comfy footwear. Veja all the way, my friends. And they’re a sustainable-fashion brand! Good for the environment and for your closet; I love low-key chic.

Madewell is having an awesome sale for Insiders. Check it out! Their denim is my go-to because of the fit, quality, and great-for-petites length.

Freedom Gluten Free is a local company that makes ridiculously delicious gluten free (and dairy free) doughnuts. Have you had them yet? Too. Good. Order them, now.

Enjoy!
