Flavor Buffet

TGIF.

Happy Friday!

Can you believe it’s the last day of January?! I can barely…However, I must admit I feel as though I’m ending the month on a high note and am very much looking forward to February. Bring on the Super Bowl, the Oscars, Valentine’s Day, and so much more.

But before we can get to all of that, let’s start with the Buffet. Fun reads for Saturday, Super Bowl recipes for Sunday, bars for sports-viewing, and products I’m debating. And coveting. ;)

Have a great weekend!

Breakfast is a hot topic. To me. I love a big meal in the morning, but time doesn’t really allow for that (train schedules). And yet, I am often on the lookout for great new breakfast ideas besides my usual eggs (and cutting back on meat and dairy is excellent for the planet). Check out this list of “23 Vegan Breakfast Recipes” and find a new idea, or two, for your morning routine.

Creating a fantastic queso dip, at home, is not impossible. And don’t worry, it won’t be lumpy. Super-Bowl-viewing necessity? Done.

Chrissy Teigen’s cookbooks are delightful and the majority of the recipes are full-on dinner time wins. But how did I miss the bacon one? Check this article for details on why the “Garlic-Roasted Bacon” should not be overlooked.

Super Bowl recipes? Coming right up…

Turkey and Bean Chili - what better dish to serve during the big game than a big bowl of chili?! I love that this one incorporates meat and beans, but it’s still pretty healthy. There’s a lot that goes into this meal, but I have a feeling it’s ridiculously delicious.

Oven Fried Cajun Popcorn Chicken with Creamy Honey Mustard - is there a better snack food for sports than popcorn chicken? I doubt it. Well, maybe chips and dip. But this recipe sounds awesome and now I’m craving it like whoah.

Poblano Corn Cheese Dip - what did I say about dip? It’s a game-day must. 😏 There are plenty of dips to choose from, but this one sounds particularly appealed to me right now. And the toughest part is not finishing all in one sitting. What’s your favorite dip?

Dine

Super Bowl weekend has arrived! If you’re not watching from the comfort of your couch, I’d recommend one of these spots to watch the game. You will eat very well.

Tavern in the Square - epitome of a game-day bar, grab seats and indulge in the vast menu that’s filled with GF options. Nachos, fried pickles, and tater tots are some of my favorite items.

Red Heat Tavern - another classic sports bar environment where I’m sure the crowds will be loud and the food… perfect for the scene. My favorite snack is the boneless buffalo wings (the entire menu can be done GF) with the spicy Thai sauce. Too delicious!

Legal Sea Foods - not exactly a sports-watching destination, I would strongly consider heading to Legal if I wanted to semi-watch the game with a side of fried clams. Or a full order. Their menu is perfection for dining gluten free while seeking seafood of all kinds.

Shop

Currently considering this very fancy face serum which I’ve read about for a few years (it’s gotten rave reviews over and over) and may finally just add it to my cart.

My intense over-sharing for how much I love Dudley Stephens fleece continues; I have no shame. I finally ordered their classic Cobble Hill style which is longer than the Park Slope, flares just slightly at the bottom, and has pockets (!). Wow. I didn’t anticipate loving it as much as I do and I wore it all weekend. Fun fact: if you’re interested in purchasing one, please let me know and I’ll send you a link for a discount off your first purchase. :)

My friend recently showed me this awesome pizza cookbook which is chock-full of gorgeous photos and features only gluten free pizza (cover-to-cover!). The pizzas look supremely divine. And the recipes are very straightforward. I’m ordering it ASAP.

Enjoy!
