Flavor Buffet

My excitement for spring is bursting at the seams! I am psyched for warm air, bright sunshine, and seasonal flavors (and flowers) that I have been anxiously awaiting. Until all of that happens though, let’s celebrate the weekend with all of these goodies. Some reading, some recipes, a few restaurants to visit, and some fun items to consider....

Have a great weekend!

Read

Bon Appétit reviewed a whole bunch of spring cookbooks and so many of them are now on my much-longer list of spring purchases. I can’t wait!

The first Indonesian food truck in San Francisco is making major waves. Who knew it was such an underrepresented cuisine in that area, let alone this country? This is a great piece about a woman on a mission and she’s making. It. Happen.

Food52’s new color palette for 2019 has come out just in time for spring and I can’t get enough of it. I have a feeling several of these shades will make it into our meals, my clothes, and more.

Cook

Spinach and Artichoke Melts sound amazing. A revamped grilled cheese that’s open-face and is essentially a new (awesome) way to have spinach artichoke dip. Perfect for dinner. Or lunch. Or both.

My mind is always on next week’s meal plan. As we’ve been doing this for years, I can’t really stop myself from researching and planning. And while we have been avoiding noodles, I just may “forget” that rule for a moment so we can add in this Stir-Fried Udon with Pork.  Just make sure to use GF rice noodles. ;)

Dessert! Dinner party for two, one, or more, I think we will need these (15-minute) individual-sized chocolate lava cakes (with clementine) because omg yum. I love lava cake.

Dine

I mentioned Adelita in this week’s Recap, but I feel it’s worth mentioning again! Delicious tacos and margaritas, plus almost the entire menu is gluten free! I may need to go again this weekend...

Speaking of French food (😂), I read about Bar Lyon that recently opened in Boston. The atmosphere sounds wonderful and knowing that this spot is another from Columbus Hospitality Group, I have a feeling I’ll adore it immediately. I’ll let you know when we go!

Spring is nearly here and I can’t wait for outdoor dining to resume! Il Casale in Lexington has a cute patio area that’s perfect for a relaxing afternoon with a glass of wine and some pasta. ;)

Shop

Don’t Forget: Mollie’s Market launches super soon!

Maybe I’m late to the party, but is anyone else aware of the brand Sezane? Their clothes look incredible and I cannot wait to visit their NYC shop. Online purchases are possible too, so I may need to order this shirt right now.

I’ve been in the market for a new, at-the-gym water bottle for far too long and this nonsense stops this weekend. Pretty sure I’ll be using one of these starting next week.

If you’re curious about my ongoing skincare adventures, I’ve been using this cream from Caudalie at night (among other products) and I think it’s working pretty well! Then again, I’m sleeping while it’s “working” so I don’t watch the progress. But! My skin does feel nice in the morning!

Enjoy!
