Flavor Buffet

Happy Friday, everyone!

November has begun and that means the season of giving is off and running. Thanksgiving kicks it off in a few weeks and then holidays are in full swing through January. So hold on to your tote bags and find your favorite cookie cutter, the most wonderful, and busiest, time of the year has arrived.

And now… the Buffet!

All about a little shop outside of NYC that sounds quite blissful and I’d even consider the (very) long drive from Boston to check it out.

A great set of Thanksgiving shopping tips. Most of these are actually pretty familiar!

A travel guide that’s for very specific activities and locations, but perhaps that’s the kind of trip I need? A vacation sounds fabulous. 😎

And last, but not least, a wonderful list of thoughtful reminders and helpful info for beginners in the kitchen. I’m keeping all of these on hand forever. :)

CooK

See a theme? Comfy and cozy and hearty all season long…

Creamy Pumpkin Risotto with Bacon and Leeks - This dish just screams “Friday night special.” With a fire roaring nearby.

Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Cornbread - How do I make this magically appear in my oven? Time to bake…

Cheesecake Marbled Pumpkin Slab Pie - Step aside cookies, I think I need to learn to make pie. Slab pie to be specific. This sounds amazing.

Dine

Restaurants for the weekend…

Great Marsh Brewing Co. - this is a brand-new restaurant that opened in Essex, MA this week. I would love to check it out as it’s from the same restaurant group as The Bancroft, which one of our weekend favorites. Yes, I would avoid the beer and ask plenty of appropriate questions before ordering food. Stay tuned…

SRV - I have heard wonderful reviews about this Boston restaurant and would love to try it during the holiday season. Per usual, I would ask plenty of menu-related questions for my gluten free needs.

The Mad Monkfish - Finally went to this Central Square staple and loved it! Plenty of gluten free options and plenty of dishes can be made gluten free. In the mood for sushi or Asian fusion? I’ve found your spot!

Shop

Places I’m loving right now…

For Now - a very cool shop that’s in the Seaport as well as in Wellesley and Nantucket. Featuring small, predominantly online businesses that are making waves in the retail industry, this store has quickly become my go-to to see what’s new and cool (and that I didn’t know existed). Perfect for gift-giving during the holidays!

J.Crew - they’re having a major Friends and Family sale right now and I think you should check it out. Rewards members get 40% off their purchase! Wowza. Time to stock up on everything. I’m debating a couple coats and maybe even a cashmere sweater or two…

Tuckernuck - recently discovered this preppy shop that’s based in Washington, DC, but their online presence is delightful. Peruse the pages and find all sorts of style inspiration for the holiday season and beyond.

Enjoy!
